Silent Bubbles
The earth’s most valuable treasures are the hardest to find. Gold is buried deep into the ground. Artifacts adorned with rubies protected by walls long forgotten. Paradises hidden behind glorious waterfalls. Some would argue the search is not even worth it. Others would call the treasure a myth.
But the treasure is there; only the resilient and worthy-deemed shall find it. This applies similarly to society’s hidden bubbles. I do not intend to sound downtrodden. However, as fate would have it, society was a mess. Or at least the visible part of it was. Discussions used to be something I quite liked to indulge myself in. That was until those discussions lost fruition.
At this point, as you are well aware, anything is cause for conflict. Discussion has become a weak poison. It’s not exactly lethal, but it’s disheartening and painful. And what was worse was that those involved in discussion appeared to be idiots. I do not state this in an egotistic manner, it is just the truth. Thus, like any normal human being who’s had enough of lethargic idiocracy, I quit listening and quit talking.
This was when I saw the treasure. It was a small delicate elusive sphere. Something that wouldn’t be seen by an inattentive eye. You see, the media we consume nowadays tends to enlarge the scale of things. Thus, whenever I saw and heard conflict, it sounded 10 times worse. But out here in real life, things aren’t as bad as they previously seemed. Not everyone is at each other’s throats. Even better was what’s inside the sphere.
There are good people in this world, but they don’t flaunt how good they are. And since most are always overshadowed by the noisy dumb folk, they are usually hard to notice. They’re treasure. They require effort and patience to find. They require a change in sight in order for you to see them amongst the crowds. Above all else, they do what loud folk forget to do. They analyse the conflict and take measures to avoid it existing in their bubble.
Heck they might not even need to do that, because to them that conflict naturally doesn’t exist in their habitat.
Thus a new goal was born. Pay no attention to the noise. Build your bubble and find those who would help you grow it into a fine shell. Let the world burn for all its’ hell. At the end of the day, beneath ashes and broken land, after the storm had settled. The saplings will grow, the treasure will come forth from the ground. The storm is the worst case scenario, so what does that make of today’s pestering drizzle?
In a nutshell, learn and grow on your own, don’t wait for the noise outside to settle first. Because that noise will never end, and it will always represent a small piece on a large map.
